According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the United States, the employment rate is at a low of 3.7%, which means many companies are at war for remarkable talent. Therefore, many organizations may seek to host hiring events and job fairs to attract the best potential candidates. Thus making, are job fairs one of the best places to find a job.

The important thing is to be prepared and treat job fairs like you would when attending an interview. Make sure you have the necessary essentials to present yourself as the best candidate and the rest, as they say, is history.

Here are some of the things that a job seeker migh need when attending a job fair in order to make the most out of it:

1. Do advance research.

It is important to do some advance research before going to the job fair so you know which companies you're interested in. This will also help you with time management. Depending on the size of the job fair, it may be impossible to approach every company. However, by doing research beforehand, you will know which companies you are more sutiable for.

Usually, the organizers of this event will post the companies that will participate on the job fair. Obtaining some information about the companies and the position that is open for the job would be an edge over the others.

2. Have plenty of resumes.

It's better for you to have too many resumes, than not enough. By doing research beforehand you can kind of gauge the amount of resumes you may need. However, at a minimum you should have at least 25, before going to the job fair.

In this way, the applicant will be able to provide resumes to all of the potential employers in the job fair. The more resumes you hand out the better your chances of landing a job.

3. Dress professionally.

As they say, first impressions are lasting impressions. Hence, in order to cut above the rest of the job seekers, you should dress to impress. Remember you are going to meet your future employer. What you wear should project a professional outlook, enthusiasm, and the determination to get the job that you desire.

4. Be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

5. Keep record! Know the list of companies, person you encountered, and contacts you made while given out your resumes.
