4 Keys to Building A Powerful Brand Identity In Your Career Industry Or Business

Here are four things you should keep in mind when building your brand identity in your career or business:

1) Profess the most significant thing about yourself expertise or business

Don't be all things to all people. Niche yourself. Instead spend your time focusing on a single clear message.

For example, Mercedes-Benz owns “ Engineering “ in the car industry because it’s focused on that singular message for decades.

2) Consistency is key

Be consistent in your presentation and communication. This will ensure that  employers and customers recognize you. Be consistent in the use of social media profiles, taglines, visual elements, tone, and copy.

Coca-Cola is one of the most recognized brands in the world because they haven’t changed in decades. Make sure all of your online pressences have the same feel and message.

3) Make sure your message is current and relevant to your industry

Know your indsutry and what their currently needs are. That means you understand what they care about now and how to speak directly to them.

Make sure what you sell is what they need. Remember the conversation should always be about your audience (or industry) and not just a great idea. Speaking about yourself helps your industry to relate to you, but make sure it somehow ties in to your industry.

4) Use a strong offer to motivate

You want your industry to remember you and you want its members to believe in you.

You need to move them to take  action. Give them a reason to follow you. Have personality and your messages clear, appropriate for your brand, and relatable.

Every time a person comes in contact with your brand, they will have either a positive or a negative experience. Those experiences will add to their perception of you and your brand.

Those experiences are recalled later when it’s time to make decisions about hiring you or using your business. So decided,  how you want your brand to be remembered.

You need to start by developing a plan of action. Make sure you are building a positive perception now and do whatever is necessary to maintain it.
